Ho-Ho-Kus residents are entitled to a free library card, valid at all 77 BCCLS libraries, upon proof of residency. To apply for a card, visit the Circulation Desk with a current form of ID bearing your Ho-Ho-Kus address. Accepted forms of identification include a driver's license, utility bill, and rent or mortgage statement/lease. Children under 18 are entitled to a card with the permission of a parent or legal guardian. You may begin the application process online, but a follow-up visit to the library with proof of residency is required before your card is ready for use.
Individuals who work, own property, or go to school in Ho-Ho-Kus but live in a town without a BCCLS library are eligible for a free courtesy card, providing access to materials from this library. Temporary residents such as au pairs may also be entitled to a courtesy card. Residents of other BCCLS towns must register for a card at their home library, but can then use our library whenever they wish. View our Circulation Policyfor more information.
We do not provide pay card access for those who are not eligible for membership with us, but some of our neighboring libraries do, including Ridgewood Public Library and Upper Saddle River Library.
Lost library cards may be replaced for a nominal fee of $3.00. Cards are valid for three years, and may be renewed for free with proof of continued residency.
