2020 Election Information

Due to the pandemic, voting in this year's election will look a little different than usual. Election Day is November 3, but voters should familiarize themselves with the changes in advance. In New Jersey, ballots will be mailed to all registered voters no later than Monday, October 5. There are three options to cast your vote by mail.

Option 1: USPS

Simply place your completed ballot in the postage-paid envelope provided and give it to USPS at the post office or via a mailbox no later than November 3. Ballots postmarked on or before Election Day will be counted by the Bergen County Board of Elections.

Option 2: Drop Box

The Bergen County Board of Elections maintains secure drop boxes around the county, which are emptied daily leading up to Election Day. Drop boxes are available 24/7, and completed ballots must be placed in them by 8pm on November 3 to be counted. For a list of drop boxes in Bergen County, click here.

Option 3: At Your Polling Place

Voters who require an ADA accommodation may vote by machine at their local polling place on November 3. Non-ADA voters who wish to vote in person will be granted a provisional paper ballot upon request. To avoid voting with a provisional ballot, you must bring your completed mail-in ballot with you and hand it directly to a poll worker. Do not place your ballot in a mail slot, or it will not be counted.
