This is a challenge to encourage caregivers to read 1,000 books to their children before starting kindergarten! You can count any books you like, whether oft repeated old favorites or brand new titles.
Why? Because when we read stories, we hear a variety of words, change the tone of our voices, and use facial expressions-- all of which encourage language development and social and emotional skills. You can do it! While it might seem overwhelming, it’s not an unattainable goal. Reading one book every night means that within 1 year, your child will have read 365 books! If we do the math, in just 3 years, your child will have read 1,095 books. |
Register with us and your child will get a race car to add to our challenge racetrack. For every 100 books read, your child will earn an achievement certificate.
