Apply for a library card

We are so glad you want to become a member of Worth-Pinkham Memorial Library!

Apply
  • Stop by the library with a current form of ID bearing your Ho-Ho-Kus address.
  • Accepted forms of identification include a driver's license, utility bill, and rent or mortgage statement/lease.
  • Children under 18 are entitled to a card with the permission and proof of residency of a parent or legal guardian.
  • Children enrolled in the Ho-Ho-Kus Public School will typically get their first library card in Kindergarten. We encourage children ages 5 and up to receive their own card.
  • You may begin the application process online, but a follow-up visit to the library with proof of residency is required before your card is ready for use.

Renewal
  • Library cards are valid for three years and may be renewed for free at the library with proof of continued residency.
  • If you used to have an account with us and can no longer find your card, a new one can be issued - see Lost Cards below

Eligibility
  • Residents of Ho-Ho-Kus are entitled to a free account with our library, valid at all 78 BCCLS libraries, upon proof of residency.
  • If you have recently moved and have a different BCCLS member library card, we will issue you with a new one providing you with access to Ho-Ho-Kus exclusive resources.
  • Those who work, own property, or go to school in Ho-Ho-Kus, but have primary residence in a town without a BCCLS member library are eligible for a free courtesy card. These accounts do not allow for use of the full BCCLS network, but provide access to all physical materials circulated by our library.
  • Temporary residents such as au pairs may also be eligible for a courtesy card.
  • Residents of other towns with a BCCLS member library must register for a card at that library, but can then use our library as much as they like!
  • We do not provide pay card access for those who are not eligible for membership with us, but some of our neighboring libraries do, including Ridgewood Public Library and Upper Saddle River Library.
  • View our Circulation Policy for more information.

Lost Cards
  • Damaged or missing library cards may be replaced for a nominal fee of $3.00
  • A new barcode will be issued and accounts with Libby or Hoopla must be transferred by Library Staff to ensure uninterrupted service.
