Playaway Launchpads come preloaded with a mix of educational and fun content centered on a theme.

They are 100% secure with no risk for unintended content and do not require an internet connection. Each tablet has a 7-inch screen and circulates with a protective bumper case.

Our initial collection of Launchpads is made possible thanks in part to a generous donation by the Ho-Ho-Kus Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. A huge thank you is owed to them for their support.

Launchpad Collection

We offer the following Launchpads for loan outside of the library:

Our Launchpad Policy

Guidelines for borrowing our Launchpads are as follows:
  • ​​Adult (age 18+) library cardholders are eligible to check out a limit of two (2) Launchpads at a time. The user’s account must be in good standing. “Good standing” is defined as not having any outstanding fines or overdue items.
  • Launchpads circulate for a period of fourteen (14) days and may be renewed twice if there are no active holds on the title.
  • A replacement cost of $100.00 will be charged if a Launchpad is lost or damaged.
  • Lost accessories (USB cord, adapter, case, etc.) will bear a $15.00 replacement fee.
  • Launchpads must be returned in person at the Circulation Desk; they may not be left in the book drop. Returning a Launchpad in the book drop is subject to a $5.00 fine.
  • It is highly recommended that the borrower check the Launchpad prior to its return and clear any stored data. The library is not responsible for any personal information left on the device.
